Why This Website?
This website is a research site for God's people. It is designed to help each individual member “Get Back on Track” in the way God has previously shown.
The site therefore tries to bring together all teaching given through Mr Herbert Armstrong between the years 1978 and 1985, when a similar process was taking place within the Church. This includes written material produced prior to these dates, yet still in print during these years.
One problem found at that time, was an attitude of “let the people decide”, rather than a ready acceptance of what God revealed. “Let the people decide” is the very meaning of the word: “Laodicea”, and the identical attitude can be found extensively today within the corporate Churches.
This vital teaching therefore - found within the 1978-1985 material - is probably even more applicable now than when first given.
(Note: If you would like more information on the unique apostolic end-time role of Mr Armstrong, contact: )
New
The re-design of this site has been several years in the planning and development and it is with excitement that we can announce the addition of several new features which were not available on the previous version.
Search facility
The ability to search the contents of this site has added by using the search bar on the top of the menu. It is possible to widen or narrow the scope of searches from “all content” down to one subtype – for example all booklets – and beyond that to within one book or one chapter of a book. Further details of how to get the most from the search utility can be found on the search page.
We hope that this will aid in the study of specific topics and in finding specific quotes and views expressed by Mr Armstrong during the “Back On Track” years.
Related Reading Material
Material has been linked and cross referenced to provide recommended reading lists for particular subjects/topics. This should aid further study and help provide greater depth of understanding across related documents.
Print option
Another new development is the ability to print any chapter, booklet or article simply by clicking on the print icon/options tab in your browser.
Original documents
Wherever possible, we have now included the .pdf image of each document so it is possible to easily view the original scanned image. This provides the opportunity for articles to be viewed in their historical context in the magazines and for any doubts over the authenticity or veracity of the content to be settled. The images are accessed either by clicking on the .pdf icon on the top right of the screen or simply by clicking on the image of the document to the left eg clicking on the image of Pagan Holidays or God’s Holy Days – Which? will take you to the .pdf image.
Ebook versions
As technology has advanced, we have tried to keep pace and now provide the facility for content to be downloaded in Ebook format. This is accessed by clicking on the icon on the top right of the screen.
Referencing
The books and booklets have been referenced for all scriptures, internal documents (eg references to other booklets) and some external sources (eg Strong’s concordance). Where these are “live” they appear as blue text underlined and can be clicked on to be taken straight to the associated document. Where these are not yet “live” they have a faint dashed red underline. Further work is taking place to make these fully available soon.
Additional Content
New material has been added in the form of all the Pastor’s/Pastor General’s Report for the “Back On Track” years written by Mr Armstrong. Images in .pdf format have also been added for the Correspondence Course and the typed content of these will be following soon – again fully searchable once they are available.
Improved Navigation
Ease of use within documents and generally browsing around the site has been improved with new navigation buttons – “first”, “previous”, “next”, “last” and “top” – as well as indexing of linked articles from the same magazine edition. These should make browsing and “surfing” the site easier.
The intention is to keep improving and adding to the wealth of information on the site. This means further improvements are planned and we suggest checking back here regularly to see what has been updated!
If you experience any difficulties please let us know by emailing with details of your problem and we will do our best to help.
For a little while the previous site will be available at http://v1.getbackontrack.org
